Not necessarily a compliment...

Did Shakespeare get it wrong?

I mean, to say:

"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?"

Is not necessarily a compliment in Northern Britain.

Hmm. The delights of July in Torridon. (And I haven't even mentioned the midges yet.)

You know what? I think I'll stay indoors...

  2. Crikey .... you've got the fire on in summer. We don't even put ours on in winter.

I jolly near switched the central on the other night. Managed to resist, but it required a couple of knee blankets. Fun, ain't it? Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  4. We would love for you to push some of that chilly damp air this way. It is in the 90s and we have the VA equivalent of midges too!

  5. Bertie, thank goodness you've got that lovely thick fur to keep you warm.
It's pretty hot here and we're about to close all the windows and put the air-con. on until it gets dark.

    Love,
    Inca xx

  9. We totally feel your pain Bertie...here on the Northwest Pacific coast, the evenings are definitely cool enough for a toasty fire. Our humans refuse tho...they just can't bring themselves to light a fire in July!
