When random people we meet in the park hear that my name is Bertie, they often say:
"Awww, but he looks just like a Bertie".
Have you any idea what they mean?
I would love to know what it is about me that conveys the essence of Bertieness?
On another matter. You know we actually had a couple of warm days in Aberdeen last week? So much so that I had the opportunity to make a video demonstrating how to cool off in the river, WFT style.
You will notice that one keeps one's belly dry. It is all in the nose and beard action.
You DO look like a BERTIE. Filled UP with BERTIEness. BERTIE just FITS YOU.

ReplyDelete...hmmm, the moustachios? The centre parting perhaps? Or the gentlemanly manner of water dancing? Definitely a Bertie.
Meanwhile the micro climate of A&B has struck again... hot is not a word that will figure often in reference to Dunoon I fear... so the likelihood of your receiving a video of bellies avoiding water over this way is zero to below! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
the only other Bert we know is a big old golden lab and you do share the same qualities - love of walking and water - being adventurous, willing to try anything - that is Bertie
ReplyDeleteIt is the twinkle in your eye and the bounce in your tail that makes you the Best of Berties!
ReplyDeletegus n teka
Bertie is so you and you convey Birtieness to perfection.
ReplyDeleteHave a serene Sunday and let us all enjoy some big easy today.
Best wishes Molly
Your Bertie-ness is handsome to me.

Bertieness must mean energetic, humorous and handsome. We'll add it to our vocabulary...as in the essence of bertiness. Yeah, that'll work.
ReplyDeleteWe try your river technique, but out legs are too short.
XXXOOO Bella & Roxy

ReplyDeleteDear Bertie....If I thought all day long I could not tell you exactly what it is that makes you look like a Bertie...
ReplyDeleteBut if I gave a quick answer it would be Bertie sounds is a perky name and you are a perky pup.
Hugs madi your bfff
Bertie, I get that too! Once people digest how long my name is they say I look just like a Coccolino. Good thing I AM a cuddlebug.
ReplyDeleteA quick google of the name Bertie came up with 'noble, bright, famous, illustrious'
ReplyDeletePerfect descriptions of our lovely Bertie
Some names are just US. Momma knew as soon as she saw me that I looked like a Casey, and she was right!
ReplyDeleteI bet Bertie is a short word for Best Terrier and that's what you are :o) I still wear the name the breeder gave me, all people laugh when I show up like a steamroller and then they hear my name is Easy :o)
ReplyDeleteBertie. You may have had a few days of sunshine but I bet that water was cold . No wonder you just washed your face !
ReplyDeleteI'm taking notes on your cooling off style. My belly always manages to get wet!

The essence of Bertieness??? Hmmm.... pawsomely cute, adorable, cute, swoonable, cute, snuggle-worthy, and did I say cute???
ReplyDeleteBertie,
ReplyDeleteI am pained by your cautious approach to the joys of swimming. Let me tell you that full body emersion is the way to go. Perhaps it is a terrier thing as I am told my Great Grandpa Angus suffered similarly (yes, he looked like an Angus). Then there was the fateful day when he was wading in the wrong patch of lake and discovered that his next step was off an underwater cliff and he vanished into the deep. Fear not, wiry fur aids buoyancy and he was quite fine, albeit rather abashed upon his return to shore.
Kisses,
Dexter
Bertie you river looks so clean and clear. My river does not look that way. Now for your name, well I am thinking it is a boys name, you are a boy. Bertie means bright, well we know you are a thinker. And it can mean famous, are you famous well YES!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a friend
