Actually it wasn't a stroll at all it was a VERY LONG WALK with Gail and her friends Kate and Henry.
And I had SO much work to do. For instance, waking Henry from his post-lunchtime nap.
Meanwhile, I am learning fast about this posing business.
But I have no idea what Kate thought was so funny at this particular moment.
It was a lovely walk, but also VERY LONG.
And I was very happy when, eventually, we got back to Kate and Henry's cottage.
PS From Gail: Bertie has not been weighed lately, but I can report with confidence that he is now far too heavy to carry comfortably in my arms for the last two miles of a seven mile hike....
Hi Bertie,
ReplyDeleteYou have grown up so fast. Are you full size yet, and does Gail's comment mean that she tried to carry you on this walk? It looks like you had a nice day out with your friends.
Woofs,
Riley
He's getting big isn't he? He doesn't look so much like a pup in his pictures anymore!

It's so beautiful there! Bertie! Ask your people to buy you an all terrain stroller - heehee - my lady bought one for our Pekingese friend Ting-a-Ling. It's made by Jeep and can do cross country!

ReplyDeleteGail with aching arms says: Yes Riley, I did carry him for most of the last two miles!
ReplyDeleteFabulous.. Really you are a quick learner. That posing stuff GOES FAR... and can be used in many different situations...for example ...I AM SO CUTE give me a cookie or I AM SO CUTE Pat me or I AM SO CUTE YOU MUST PLAY WITH ME you can see how far this can get you.. If you want to REALLY up the ante..... Put your head to the side... Gets them every time.... Love A and A PS we did score some ice cream in Portsmith!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou need to get your Mum to start working out. She needs to be able to cart you at all times! What is the matter with that woman? Our Mum can stagger a good 25 feet with us without falling now that we have started her exercise program LOL!
ReplyDeleteFantastic use of alliteration, Bertie!
ReplyDeleteGet her on an exercise program, Bertie. With all those long walks, you'll end up with short legs like Hamish. Make her carry you sometimes.
XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella
Oh such beautiful scenery and such a gorgeous country!
ReplyDeleteCarry him?? My Mom carries me but I only weigh 5 pounds!
woo woos, Tessa
Carry him! Go to the gym if you need to build up your strength. The poor little chap all going on a forced march. I imagine that his posing wore him out or he would have made it just fine, right?
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,
Mango
He needs a little buggy or a wagon to be transported in, if you are too weak, Gail (old age will do that to you!)
ReplyDeleteCheck out the Pup Shops!

Nice alliteration in the title (we were going for one in tomorrow's post, but it is not quite as good). And an excellent hike.
ReplyDeleteHi, Bertie! It's nice to meet you. You live in a beautiful part of the world! We look forward to getting to know you and looking at your lovely pictures. Bandit and Pack ♥

dear bertie
ReplyDeletei'm looking for your advice...
i found your blog today - and fell in love with you...
i followed a link from Granddach your birth place because we are thinking about adopting a wee wire fox terrier...
you see my little girl eilidh (who is a lovely human and not a dog...)who is 18 months old - and she would love you too - has just been diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called spinal muscular atrophy which means that she will never walk...
what i was wondering though is whether a dog like you would cope with a girl like her? and whether one of your brothers or sisters might make a good companion for eilidh?
love and hugs
sheonad
ps eilidh's grannie and grandpa have 2 mad cocker spaniels called cyr and blue - they are gun dogs but are daft as brushes xxx
Ahh, Bertie, when I was just a wee lad myself, I tried to convince my Mom that I was a Carryin' Terrier, rather than a Cairn terrier—especially when I was just 6 months old and weighed 13 pounds and it was scorching hot outside!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work!!!
Your pal,
Uncle Petey
Bertie my boy. Do be careful you don't wear your wiry leggeds out doing all that walking in your delightful scotty land. Phew .I was relieved you managed to hitch a ride from Gail for a while.
ReplyDeleteLook at you all perfect puppy posing in your photos. Coming on a treat my boy. Do demand a treat EVERY time won't you. If they have the cheek to forget do the pitiful whine - scores you double.
Now one more thing to bark. Your tail. It's sooperdooper all square and straight, no banana going on at all!!! Ah. Wagging. Always knew you were a good 'un.
Toodle ooo. Fondly your Uncle Eric (who was so close to scoring a whole tupperware box full of sausage rolls in the park yesterday...until some leggeds snatched them away a second too early. Next time..)
Bertie boy, you are looking so good!! SO you're getting too heavy for your Gail to carry for long?? Are you on the big side for a WFT or is Gail just a runt? Ahahaha. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteSmooches from pooches,
BabyRocketDog and Hootie
Bertie, we can't believe how fast you've grown - it seems like just yesterday you were a dream, then you because a little ball of fluff and now you're a teenager!!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Ruairi
Wooos Bertie! woo are getting a little big to be carried, but Gail should take into account woo are still a wee pup and can't quite do 7 miles, I do not think at my advanced age I could do seven miles... someone would be carrying me too, that would be a sight!
ReplyDelete~husky kisses~
-Kira The BeaWootiful
