So it was my first visit to the Torridon cottage for, like, ages, and I hastened over to my Shetland sheep neighbours to show them my new jumper and to thank them for providing the wool.
To be honest, they didn’t seem that interested or impressed, although gauging the expression on the face of a sheep is perhaps not the easiest thing.
Then, I spotted these wee fellows hiding behind their mum, and learned that they were only a few hours old.
Gosh, have you ever felt in danger of being out-cuted? Gail was all ooh and aah and look at the little lambykins.
Being of a more practical bent, I was already planning a colour scheme for next year’s sweater.
PS In case you are thinking, Bertie, now Spring has arrived perhaps you might be a little too warm in that woolly sweater, I would like to point out that on Sunday morning when I woke up there was a sprinkling of SNOW on the grass in our cottage garden...
Well those lambs certainly did give you a run for your money in the cuteness stakes Bertie, but I think that you held your own. The view in the last shot is superb - well done Gail on capturing that lovely morning sunshine.
ReplyDeleteYa look real cute in your sweater.
ReplyDeleteAs for bein out-cuted - don't think ya got a lot to worry bout. Since I wuz not around. ;)
You is way more cuter dan a sheep... of any size, Bertie.
ReplyDeleteAnd dat Whitley!! hee hee... gots no shortage of self-worth dere!
Yer Momma is really gud at knittin'.... great sweater, Bertie!!
Yeah, sheep are hard to read. We don't think they show much emotion.....
ReplyDeleteThose are VERY cute lambs, but don't worry, they'll grow out of their cuteness, and you'll still be the handsome one.
Never work with babies......they always steal the show :)
ReplyDeleteAwww, those sheepies are very cute Bertie, butts, not as handsome as you in your jumper.
ReplyDeleteI hear the 'Arctic Plume' is heading your way Bertie, you might want to have you new jumper made up super quick!
Loves and licky kisses

BERTIE THERE IS NO WAY YOU COULD BE OUT CUTED BY AND ITTY BITTY LAMBYKINS, ESPECIALLY IN THAT JUMPER. REMIND GAIL SHE CANNOT CUDDLE WITH THEM. BUT I MUST ADMIT THEY ARE RATER ADORABLE. OH MY WORD WHAT GORGEOUS VIEWS FROM YOU COTTAGE.
ReplyDeleteHUGS MADI YOUR BFFF
Those two little lambs are precious ...and yes, black sweaters are always cool in our book.

ReplyDeleteCrikey, Bertie lad, I need sever sweaters on today - none of mine are as cute-enhancing as yours though!!! Yup Lambs are cute. No doubt about it. However, they are of fleeting interest compared to a constant companion such as yourself. Wrap up lad.... Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Oh, let us make this jumper thing a bit more challenging than "black" although adding to the equation the effort involved in getting a "turtleneck" over a square head,,,,hmmm. perhaps we spoke to early. We would like to add some black to the existing colors, make the pattern a bit simpler, let's say mostly beige with a black saddle, then you would be camouflaged as a WFT!

Bertie that's a super sweater... and it looks a little like my fur-color...am I a sheep too?
ReplyDeleteI love the little black guys, will they stay black or will they look like their mom later?

Baby sheep are sooooooo cute! We had snow and frozen ground many mornings last week, we understand that spring doesn't mean spring all the time.
ReplyDeleteOh no....we don't think you could ever be out-cuted, Bertie!!

Hi Bertie, you look fabulous in your jumper! There was more snow on Sunday afternoon, it felt like mid winter again, not spring time! The lambykins were in need of a knitted woolly jumper themselves...could you have a word with Gail...
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Julia
P.S. That photo from the garden is stunning...
