Am I not a "real dog"?

So my nice friends Yvonne and Neil invited me and Gail round to their house last night to watch the BBC's new TV series 'Civilisations'. As Gail was cuddling me in the kitchen, Yvonne mentioned that her younger son Aaron, who is studying at university in Edinburgh, had asked on his last visit home when they were going to get another dog.

Can you imagine how insulted I felt when I learned that what Aaron has in mind is not a medium sized and unfeasibly cute terrier, but what he calls a "real dog"? He has suggested maybe a rescue Rottweiler....

Meanwhile I am still having a wee bit of trouble with my paws - hence all the cuddles. I made it very slowly to the park this morning, but then had to be carried back. Gail says at least her arms are getting lots of exercise!
PS We are waiting until my paws are no longer too sore before trying out my newly purchased boots. Yes, we know, kind of a Catch 22 situation. ..

Oh now Bertie lad, so sorry to hear of ongoing paw-trubs! Glad to hear there are boots to be worn; eventually. Meanwhile, I am thinking all the extra time in Gail's arms cannot be such a bad thing... and wasn't Civilisations a wonderful program? I loved Mr Schama's introduction!!! Hugs and wags, and POTP, YAM-aunty xxx

  2. So sorry to hear of your continuing paw problems! Might I suggest a boxer as an alternative dog that is big enough to satisfy but not oversized?

  4. Bertie darlin' we are so sorry your precious WFT paws are having difficulties again. Yikes sounds like you are allergic to something in the snow or maybe just cold weather. Kitty kisses and Mom hugs to them.

Now as for a REAL dog...OMCS you are, in our humble and unbiased opinion, a REAL MAN and A REAL Dog!!
Hugs madi your BFFF and mom

  7. A real dog - does he mean you are a stuffed toy or something? Really Bertie, how insensitive to suggest a Rottweiler -of course you're a real dog ! And a very handsome one too.
So sorry your paws are poorly again, but I'm sure the boots will help a lot.

    Love,
    Inca xx

  11. You ARE the realest dog that ever could be! Now how do you feel about those boots? We sure hope those paws improve but will hold judgement on the boots until we know your thoughts.

    Keep Calm & Bark On!
