Different ideas of fun...

When the streets and parks are icy, and the hills inland are still covered in snow, a visit to the beach is often a good bet.

Bearing in mind that the air temperature was around zero Centigrade and the sea only a few degrees warmer, I offer you the following two photos taken on Saturday afternoon as evidence in support of my contention that dogs are more intelligent than humans, and have superior survival instincts.
Gail and I are now heading down (by car) to Nottingham for an extended Christmas visit, to check up on Human Granny, who has developed an increasing tendency to topple over, I'm sad to report.

  1. Dogs are definitely more intelligent than some....make that many humans. 41°C here at the moment.
Bertie, please don't be the cause of Toppling Granny...

  4. Bertie, we're so sorry to hear that Human Granny isn't too good in the balance department, and hope she will be better.
Mind how you go - it's a long drive to Nottingham. Will you be navigating?
A very good Christmas to you all.

  6. Enjoy your trip to see Human Granny and give her a kiss from me. I miss our trips to see Aunt Marie and the Oldies but Goodies. Really. They all love the terriers, and even if they loved Gussie more than they loved me, there was plenty of love to go around.

  7. Bertie if we live to be 300 we 3 seniors will never understand the fascination with surfing in frigid or warm waters...where there are things lurking under the water than can eat your toes.

We send you lots of safe travel wishes and many hugs to HG...we hope and purr you have a good visit and we know seeing you and Gail will be quite enjoyable for her.
Is she toppling over in her chair? Kinda like slumping. My human granny did that and it is very concerning as you worry they might fall out of their chair.
    Many hugs madi and mom

  8. Bertie - Word of advice. Never, ever, turn your back on an incoming North Sea wave.
