In need of protection?

In future I am thinking of demanding a security detail for outings in Lower Deeside.

Yes really!

What? Do I hear someone saying don't be ridiculous Bertie, the Banchory area is hardly Aleppo.

OK, so I admit you might be looking at these photos taken on a Sunday morning walk up Scolty Hill with Gail and her friend Yvonne, and thinking how lucky I am to live in a tranquil and beautiful (if seldom sunny) corner of the planet.

Well let me tell you, appearances can be very deceptive.

Prepare to be horrified.

TWICE OVER, IN THE COURSE OF AN HOUR, I WAS THREATENED WITH KIDNAP!

First by a pair of runners at the top of the hill. Then later by barista Sophie outside Yvonne's favourite café in Cults.

What's worse, I cannot get Gail to take this perilous situation one little bit seriously.

PS I am delighted to report that my sore paws are so much better, not itchy at all, and so I am back to my bright and bouncy best in time for the Christmas holiday. [Gail adds: fingers crossed that the improvement persists after Bertie's short course of Prednisolone finishes tomorrow.]

  1. Bertie this is just terrible ! Who would have thought you were in danger in such a beautiful landscape? Problem is, you're such a handsome chap, anyone would kidnap you and take you home. You'd make a lovely Christmas present !
    Glad your paws are better.

Crikey Bertie lad - you do know that if Gail hadn't been watching me pack at the Luib, you might have ended up in Dunoon, donchya?! You are just too desirable lad. What to say???

Seriously though; I think you can take such passing threats as compliments - which is what I suspect Gail is doing! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

(pee ess - great news on the paws!)

  5. You're in danger alright Bertie. Gail should really take these threats seriously. Fair dinkum if Mum could get over to Scotland you wouldn't be at all safe. She'd have you packed in a bag and on a plane to Australia so quick you wouldn't know what hit you. At least you'd get to see some sunshine, aye?

  6. Bertie pick me pick me as head of your security detail. My qualifications: jumps like a kangaroo, daggers like a saber tooth and a fierce roar! That would surely scare off the 'nappers!! MOLMOL You are just too cute for your own good.

OH I wish we could get a video of the train. Dad doesn't have a track here in his train room. He runs his train over at Mr. jerry's maybe we can ask Mr. jerry to send us some sounds. Dad can build or rebuild a train but he hasn't a clue how to use mom's camera. LOL
