Qui est Milou?

An encounter walking home from the park last week.

A man dressed in casual but stylish clothes, holds the hand of a small boy, presumably his son.

The wee lad points excitedly in my direction.

This is what Gail hears.

"Shang, shang!"

And the father's response.

"Ah oui, c'est Milou! Le chien est Milou, n'est ce pas?"

No. I'm Bertie.

Huh.

Well I s'pose it's better than "where are his wheels?"

  1. How cute... French tourists in Aberdeen...
No I mean how cute of the son.. and of course there is a great likeness. He's not wrong. I wonder how many British kids would know about Tin Tin?

  3. Now, we don't speakie any French here, we only speak Dachshund, so we're having a little trouble translating. But did the little boy think that you were Tin Tin?

Give your Mom a BIG kiss from us Bertie and wish her a Happy Mother's Day.

    Hugs,

  5. I had to google that one, my wiry friend. Surely you are much more dignified than a cartoon dog, but always nice to get attention.

  8. Hello Bertie!
I'm pleased to hear that Eve (and Grace and their mum) met you and Gail this morning at Duthie Park!
I'm happy because it means you really do exist and that there's a chance of me bumping in to you one day there, but I'm a wee bit sad because Eve didn't take me with her. Maybe one day we will meet each other!
Eve phoned to tell me how lovely you and Gail are, and that you're quite a quiet little dog, meaning I might like you! (I don't like big woofy dogs, although I bark a lot at home myself)

I like Snowy and Tintin too, and I must admit, if you were pure white you would look rather a lot like him. And you are both very clever too!
But wheels? You do look a bit like a soft toy, but surely people can tell the difference!

    Have a super week,
    Pippa :)

    1. Oh Pippa, it was so exciting to meet all your family in the Park this morning, although it was disappointing that you were not there too. Gail was very impressed with Eve's unicycle, and I must say I think that, with only one wheel, it is an improvement on Gail's bicycles. (Personally I'd say no wheels at all would be even better).
Hope to see you too before long.
      Toodle pip!
      Bertie.

Oh I loved Tin Tin and Snowy when I was ...younger... (ahem).

Smart kid that. But there you go - from cartoon to flesh and blood, meeting bloggy friends at the park. How wonderful!

Hope the week goes well for you and Gail. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xx
