Parklife (and prison)

Can you believe we had yet more snow this week?

At least it's now light for my 7:30 am daily visit to the park.

First thing I do on arrival is, of course, to check out my favourite shrubs.

Somewhere a bit further on I usually meet up with the regulars.

Of course I know who is a soft touch for treats.

I have found it pays to be persistent (something that comes naturally to us terriers, of course). And see how slim my waist looks in the pic below. Almost emaciated, wouldn't you say? Surely in such chilly weather I need more food...

But Gail is always going "Bertie, hurry up, we don't have all day, some of us have to work for a living, blah blah, blah...". So I must say goodbye to my pals and run along.

Back near the park gates, I stop and wait.

And if I sit and try to look my cutest, I often score another treat AND a nice ear scratch before Gail reattaches my lead and together we walk along the street and back home.

Well sadly I shall be missing the park for the next two weeks as Gail will be away in France for her Easter cycling holiday, and I must yet again endure prison camp.

So this blog will be quiet for a while.

Normal service will resume round about the time that new pups Bob and Sophie arrive chez Angus and 'the font'. Gosh I am SO looking forward to reading about their adventures.

  1. Oh, no! not camp! Well, I hope it is a nice camp. It will be fun to hear about your adventures. Have a nice time.

  2. That's a fantastic park. We just walk the streets in the morning...and go by the animals at the ag plot.

Enjoy 'camp' we know what that's like and we, too, can't wait for Bob and Sophie to get to the Rickety Farmhouse.

    XXXOOO Daisy, bella & Roxy

  3. Poor Bertie... bad Gail. If you had your passport you could have perched quite handsomely on the handle bars! Have a good holiday Gail.

  4. Bon voyage Gail!! Hope the weather improves for le grand tour. Looking forward to hearing all your tales and the arrival of the newbies. Bertie, chin up old chap. Surely camp has lots of company in the form of other inmates!

  5. Brrrr it does look cold up there Bertie. Stay warm and enjoy camp. Bon voyage mum. Have a great time.
    Have a fabulous Friday.
    Best wishes Molly

  6. Hey Bertie, you look so handsome on your pictures with your mom and dad, I hope you will enjoy your camp and stay safe. :)

  8. Blowing an absolute gale here mate (ahem....) Hope camp is fun. Sounds much better than cycling in France....

  9. We hope that Gail will have a wonderful and safe Easter trip.

Bertie, you try and have a good time at "camp". I hope they know that you still should get your treats while you're there!

Glad you got to get in one more walk in the park with your furends.

  13. WHEN will this snow STOP??? WE are supposed to get 6 inches on Sunday.

Loved seeing YOUR Paw prints mixed with the peep Tracks...
    Have fun at camp.

  14. Hi Bertie...OMDs what a fun park you have full of very nice humans and pups...but cold. Mom and I had a great laugh at your conversation with on our blog. Mom and I tend to agree with Gail..she takes you to the nicest places full of friends and hey you even went to work with her once....aka Bertie Enrichment....and now you are going to camp. WooHoo
Please wish Gail a wonderful, well deserved vacation full of fun and merriment. We'll be here when you return with your pups

    Benny & Lily

  17. It's snowing here today so spring hasn't arrived here either. I hope your time in camp passes quickly.

  18. Wishing Gail a wonderful adventure in France and lots of treats for dear Bertie while he's at dog camp. My gosh - we are so looking forward to the new Bob and Sophie blog too!

    Buzzy, the Pip and Camille

  19. Hello Bertie!
Nice to see you're enjoying the snow stuff! You really know how to get treats off people as well!
I haven't been to Duthie Park in ages!
Enjoy prison, apparently people in jail now get tellys and all, so I'm sure you'll be fine! Just don't get in a punch up with a Staffy or something...
Tell Gail to enjoy her holiday, she's lucky to be getting away from THIS weather.
    Pippa :)

  20. Gail does deserve a nice vacation and you will enjoy dog prison Sooooo very much, Bertie. We will try and think of you often behind those bars, hoping meals are served on time. Can't wait to see Gail's pictures of her adventure!

    Cheers to all,

    Jo, Stella and Zkhat

  21. Hey Bertie, just remember while you are in camp that your mom will be SO HAPPY to see you when she returns that you will get tons of treats. Maybe she will even bring you some Fancy French Biscuits or something!!!

  22. Oh Bertie, you are so smart to know how to snag the treats!! I will miss you while you are at camp!!

  23. We hope Gail has a good and safe trip and you survive prison.

    Molly, Taffy, Monty and Winnie

  24. I hope your stay in prison isn't too traumatic. The constant abandonment by Your Gail must gnaw at your emotional well being.

Given your lean, athletic physique, I think that more cookies are in order. Especially in light of your ability to look adorable.

  25. Have a great cycling holiday, France sounds lovely. Happy Easter Bertie

  26. Hi Bertie,

We are having Winter in Spring as well. Almost 12 inches of snow earlier this week, but then 70 degrees yesterday so it all melted. However, more snow in the next few days is forecast. Suka would have loved it. Your photos are fun! Looks like you have a great little meet-up group of people and pups! What a fun way to start the day! Sorry it is always cut short, though, by Gail having to go to work.

I am very sad to hear you will be in prison, I mean camp, again. Think good thoughts and the time will go by fast. I hope Gail has an amazing time on her cycle trip. Good luck to you both!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful and Happy Easter filled with much love and fun! And I hope the Easter Bunny brings you lots of yummy treats! And maybe he can break you out of prison (camp) as well. ;->
