Pipe cleaners? And farewell to Wilf

Gail says I am lucky that pipe smoking is no longer in fashion, else someone might find an alternative use for my front legs...

PS A fond final goodbye to our dear blog friend Wilf, who delighted so many of us for so long. Heartfelt thanks to Angus for sharing his story.

  2. Bertie,

Keep your front legs for what they were intended for... bouncing. If Gail mentions Pipe Cleaners again tell her that her comment says something about her age (which is probably similar to the old age of my human)!

We're going to miss Wilf too. His blog was one of our favourites. We read every post (as we loved the way that Angus described daily life) and even from far far away we felt like we knew our beloved little friend.

    Woofs,
    Riley

  10. We were looking for a different kind of piping reference in conjunction with the sad passing of dear Wilf: bagpipes to announce to heaven that another brave soul has arrived and to express the sorrow of those left behind.

No one smokes pipes in the UK anymore? They're still smoked here, although not as much as in the 1950's. Sadly, cigar smoking seems to be gaining in popularity here. Mama can't stand tobacco smoke and wishes the vile habit would just disappear. One of her favorite cartoons from years ago is this smiling Native American handing tobacco to the English colonists with a clear indication he knows it causes cancer.

  12. Oh Bertie, I think you have lovely legs.

We read about Wilf. Those last few posts on his blog were so beautiful, sad and dignified. We will miss his adventures too.

  13. Hehehe, Bertie, mum hadn't thought of pipe cleaners since her Dad used to smoke a pipe. Stellie Bellie is worried hers might be used too.

We're sorry to hear about your friend Wilf. We have sent our sincere sympathy to his family.

No worries, and love, Stellie Bellie and Ror Ha (Sarge's nicknames hehe)

  15. The next time the folks look suspiciously at our sexy gams, we will think of this post and run for the hills! (But no one smokes a pipe that we know --- so perhaps we're safe.)

    Wirey love,
