Absolutely not the thin end of the wedge

OK now I want to make things quite clear here. I agreed JUST THIS ONCE to wear a bandana to show my support for Scotland in their remaining Rugby World Cup fixtures.

This is not a precedent, the thin end of the wedge, the slippery slope to wearing a tutu, no sir!

But oh I am so excited about this rugby tournament. If fact I am quite prepared to fly out to New Zealand and offer my services to the Scotland team. I have been practicing my tackling and rucking and scrummaging skills on the back lawn and would be ready and willing to bite any opponent if required. What I lack in bulk and paw-to-eye co-ordination I make up for in spades with terrier attitude.

PS Gail assures me that the bandana doesn't look at all girlie. She is telling the truth isn't she? Don't laugh.

  1. Bertie, you look quite handsome and manly in your bandanna! Hey, we're big, strong manly-men guys and we wear bandannas; George wears them; they just take some getting used to. Go Scotland!!

-Gizmo & Bart (& Ruby who wears pink)

  2. Bertie - I'd get on that plane pretty quickly. Scotland needs you !

  3. Hi Bertie,

The game is currently playing here in NZ, and if you are watching you will know the score at half time while I write this. I think your best tactic is to remove your bandana and make a mad dash across the field (like the streaker did in the first game Scotland played) to confuse and distract the ref and other team. Go Scotland!

  4. Bertie- cool dudes wear bandanas so you are ok! I don't think neckwear counts as dressing up, so don't worry about the tutu- I'm sure it is not really for you!

  5. Your bandana doesn't look girlie at all.

You look brave, alert and ready for anything....which I find are all necessary qualities when following any country of your choice in an international sporting event. (especially being brave)

    Love and licks, Winnie

  6. GIRLIE? No way. You look very handsome. All I can say is "Go Wallabies"!!!! No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  7. STUD MUFFIN. Chicks dig rugby players!

  8. Bertie, you don't look at all girlie, but is that a football??

The Rocky Creek Scotties and Ivy

PS - we promise to hide Dad's "All Blacks" jersey.

  9. Finn called you a STUD MUFFIN!! I think that sorta says it all... bandana wise.

  10. Hey Bertie!
Wow, I think you look great! Trust me, I wear bandanas all the time and I swear I look fabulous just like you! These can be real attention getters and the woo dogs always notice. BTW: That team would be lucky to have you ... forget mascot, you should be a player! :)
    Grr and Woof,

  16. I find it hard to understand what is wrong with "looking girly". I look girly and nobody picks fights with me. Did someone suggest there was something Wrong with looking girly, Bertie?

Here is a sock on the shoulder to you!
