Snowy early morning

You've slept long enough and your hot water bottle is cold

It's a brand new day and time for your walk in the park

You step outside and wait for Gail to get all togged up

You check out unfamiliar objects

You spot some new friends in the distance

You join them for a conference

You learn their names are Ziggy and Rumpole

Gail admires the moon

You return home for porridge and coffee...

The simple things in life are the best.

  1. Family in Ballater tell us it was the coldest night on record. For Ballater that must be really cold. I fear , if this continues, an influx of nearest and dearest at Christmas.Porridge, a walk and a cuddle. What more could a boy want ?

  4. Oh boy, Bertie. You nailed this one. Just right. Right on the head. Smacko. Perfect.

Now you've got us wishin' for our first snow. And porridge. And we're working on moma to find us a couple of those hot water bottles. Seems she had 'em as a pup, but they're no where to be found here now.

(What happens if you chew a hole in THEM?)

Off to dream about your PerfectlyWonderfulMorning.

  5. Oh Bertie, what a lovely day. These humans waste so much time with all their clothes right enough - I mean it's hats, gloves, scarfs etc - they really need a good coat like us.
We liked your new friends - Rumpole is such a cool name too!
We are not so keen on the porridge ourselves but believe it to be good for keeping out the cold!
Your Auntie Bailey finally ate something this afternoon - some disgusting boiled fish and rice......!
    You enjoy the snow Bertie.
    love and kisses
Auntie Martha (commenting on behalf of Auntie Bailey who is having yet another snooze!)

  7. We experienced something like that last year when we went north for Christmas -- and it was lots and lots of fun, even though we had to put up with those silly sweaters.

We read that your winter may be unusually cold this year -- so stay warm and snuggly!!! (Are there any new lessons planned on meteorology???)

    Wirey woofs,

(Sorry if our plucking gave Gail any ideas -- just remember where we live it rarely gets below 50 F.)

  8. Just beautiful. SHE remembers those quiet, snowy morning walks. Everything muffled.

We're just having boring old rain, again.

  11. Tell me Bertie, does your Mum split her porridge with you? Our Mum splits with the cat because I eat my usual kibble for breakfast.
Mum and Ali Z really love the stuff though.

Yes, you can sell us on the simple life, thats how we do things, and how we like it!

    Kisses,
    Stella

  14. It was what? about 9 a.m. when you had your morning moonlight stroll? No wonder your hot water bottle was cold. We get to share mama's oatmeal in the morning, which is sorta like your porridge.

Abby is still going over your quantum physics lecture from last week, looking for the promised cat. She's sure it must be there someplace. She's not much interested in a theoretical cat, however. She'd much prefer to chase a real one.

Cute friends. Please tell us Rumpole is the bulldog. What a perfect name; he even sorta looks like Leo McKern. Rumpole is one of Abby's heroes of the Bar; "never plead guilty!" Abby thinks that's sound legal advice under most circumstances, especially for repeat offenders.

  15. Jed and Abby - Yes, Rumpole is of course the bulldog. Isn't it an awesome name? (We just met him again this morning (It's still snowy, still dark).

  16. Bertie, thanks for giving us a little taste of your morning rituals. The pics are very cool. You must be a very good boy to be without leash on a city walk! (Are you reaaaaalllly a terrier??) Our news said Scotland is having a big snow storm. We've had about 2 feet of snow so far and just lurve it!!!
